I am running the iOS Indoor Location example app on my phone. I have uploaded a floor plan to the ubudu managment and inserted the UUID code in *mapString in positionView controller.m

The app I uploaded does not appear in the app.

I do get this message when working with some parts of the map "Your account is not enabled for indoor positioning SDK"

Any advice you could provide would be very helpful.

    Hi Charles,

    Sorry for the late reply.
First I enabled you for the indoor location functionalities. We are not opening this part to everyone typically as it is really not enough documented at the moment. We are planning a release by the end of the week with a lot of cool features on indoor location, more specifically integrate with mapping libraries and soon also manage transitions from outdoor to indoor.
However now you should be able to experiment it and follow the tutorials we have published so far.
    The key steps are :

    • position the beacons in the map

    • edit the 2D triangulation in the map to outline the zones that are non walkable for "map matching"

    • generate tiles

    • use the uuid of the map in the example of code provided

If you have difficulties, write us again, we will be quicker to respond ;-) and schedule a skype conference with you to explain how to use it.

    Best regards,

    François

    HI Charles,

Just a quick head up to see if you were all set. We released the new UI for map editor. We think it will be much more practical and easier to manipulate than the previous one.
Don't hesitate to ask more question or give us feedback,
The new indoor Mapping SDK for Android should be released by tomorrow, we are finalising its release. An update an IOS will follow shortly.

    Best regards,

    François

    Hi Francois,

Thanks for your assistance. Once the account was enabled I was able to designate non-walkable area, set up zones and get some ranging on the Indoor Location Map.

I'll continue to dig into the tutorials and let you know how I'm doing.

    Thanks!

    Hi Francois,

I'm still having a bit of trouble getting the map to appear. I see the zones and the blue dot indicating my position and it does a good job of determining where I'm at. But I am not seeing the map that laid these things on top of. Just a black screen with gray boxes for the zones and a blue dot.

Is there a particular format I should be using for the map?

I'd love to get on a skype call tomorrow morning if you're available. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi François,

i'm having the same symptoms Charles described above using either the objC example provided with the SDK or the home made one i built with swift. Could you give me clues in order to be able to display the map layer?

    Thanks, best
    Thierry

Update: able to display Indoor SDK example venue & one of my own map now after adding some missing setting described here but for some reason i cannot reproduce with another of my maps...

To summarize: one of my map displays, the other not (using the same app, just changing the map key in the code). What am i missing here ?

    Hi Thierry,

it is strange that you needed to allow http communication to display the second map.
Can you provide me the namespace of the maps you have problem we will investigate what the problem is.
Also can you share the code you used to initialise the map and to display it ? Did you use the demo app in the directory ? BTW I’ll ask the team to update the demo app with a more recent one. We made lots of improvements on IL lately.

    Thank you,

    François

Hi François, thanks for your reply.

Using the code example you provided in the IOS-IndoorLocation-SDK Github repo,
i had still to allow http comm in order to display properly 2 maps (the one from the example "1eff16a0d6c80132a0ef0a824b34cee9" and one of my own).

I have now the problem with another of my created map (mapkey: dea671a097890133e6ff1ad861f40fb6) which does not display using the same app & code.

Of course i will be happy to get any improve code regarding IL & indoor navigation as i have to produce an IPS POC for one of my app demo.

    Best regards,
    Thierry

    OK I see.

We will update the demo / provide a new one that is also integrated with MapKit.
    Sorry for the inconvenience,

    François
